Saturday is Michigan’s 176th birthday!

Did you know the state flag was first unveiled in 1835 and featured the face of Michigan’s first governor, Stevens T. Mason?  This flag was used for 30 years until it was changed in 1865.  In 1911, the flag was changed again and that change has been the flag we have been flying for over a hundred years.
