Hi there!
My name is Lisa Rabey, your hostess with the mostess!
Welcome to my ultimate CV!
I created this page for two reasons:
- Future employers want a portfolio page. which I didn’t have
- I’m skilled in several industries and juggling multiple resumes and samples was a mess
Using the navigation on the left, learn more about me and my expertise along with relevant work experiences.
Nerd Girl Industries
My value proposition: Nerd Girl Industries empowers people to manage their digital presence via workshops, tools, consultation, and personalized instruction.
Building on my background in instruction, research, and tech, I created NGI to give the power of tech back into the hands of the people. I’ve taught dozens of workshops from how to research without AI to managing social media to building a website. In addition to the workshops, I also provide one-on-one client guidance on everything from website audits to content strategies.
You can learn more about Nerd Girl Industries and the services I offer at https://nerdgirl.net.
Librarian
Since obtaining my MLIS and archives certification, I’ve worked as an academic, public, and special collections librarian. I’ve also worked as a digital archivist for IBM and Archive Media Partners. I have experience in reference, reader’s advisory, collection management, purchasing, information literacy, supervisory, adult programming, and research. As an academic librarian, I have cross-collaborated with teams across campus and departments as well as act as a liaison to the IT department. In my role as a digital librarian, I handled online reference, social media management, WordPress management, and content creation.

Writer
I’m a versatile writer with bylines in nearly three dozen publications such as TalkSpace, mindbodygreen, A Practical Wedding, No Flying, No Tights, The Rapidian, and more. My expertise lies in mental health, personal essays, media reviews, technology, libraries, and culture analysis. I’m really into the intersection of mental health and day to day life as well as how pop culture shapes us.
I’ve also been featured in several anthologies and I’ve also published several chapbooks. My prose can be found in 50 Word Stories, 101 Words, Cafe Lit, and more. I’m currently working on several writing projects under my pen name, Scarlet McAdams.

Content Strategist
I had no idea I was a content strategist until I was hired on at ADP and it was pointed out to me that my skill set from my MLIS as well as my background in content management made me a perfect content strategist. Who knew! I enjoy being a content strategist from content planning to auditing, creating best practices and documentation. I genuinely enjoy getting the story path from SMEs and stakeholders and getting the satisfaction when the product is delivered to spec.

Project Manager
Another skill set that was born from my MLIS was project management. With a background in organization, and my own obsession to make lists, I am a natural at project management. (And let’s face it, I’m also a teeny bit bossy.)
In addition to the PM work I do for Nerd Girl Industries, I am an active participant in Code for Good’s Weekend For Good where for an intense 72 hours, I manage a project from ideation to completion by the end of the weekend. Past projects have included getting a website built from scratch, complete social media and content strategies, and branding. Once the project is brought to spec, it is then handed off to the client. Weekend for Good is a volunteer organization which pays the volunteers in food and caffeine. There is no better way to learn about PM unless you’re thrown into the thick of it!
To go legit, I’m currently working on my PM cert from Google which will be completed in the late summer of 2026.
