LibTechWomen / LibTechGender

2013 – Present
Myself along with many other fabulous people founded LibTechWomen in a response for a need safe space for women and their allies in the world of library technology. The group is “a supportive space for women and their friends to network, develop skills, build confidence, and lead positive change.” Currently unaffiliated with any professional organization, LibTechWomen strives to bring a voice to an often overlooked group. As of November 2013, there are over a 100 members. There is currently a mailing list available, Facebook group, Twitter: @libtechwomen/#libtechwomen, and other outlets where we meet up.

#LibTechGender was born out of a panel I did at Internet Librarian and the tag is to track, discuss, and keep the conversation flowing.
